Hilly Walk over the South Downs taking in the Jack & Jill Windmills, Ditchling Beacon and Plumpton. Bring packed lunch. Possible pub stop for drinks only.
A pleasant walk from the Downlands Countryside Project through woodland and over chalk downland, with views across the Weald to the South Downs, and of Capability Brown parkland. Mostly fairly level but the route includes some steep slopes, steep steps, and chalk paths that can be slippery. Car park can be busy so allow time for parking. No lunch stop. Pub stop for drinks only.
Saturday 11th September
This walk takes in the very best of Cobham and its surrounding countryside including various historic sites along the way. Tucked away just behind the village is Painshill Park described as one of the finest 18th century landscape
parks in Europe. To celebrate UK Heritage Open Day there is free entry to everyone and we shall explore the park’s various follies together with its dramatic landscape which was created back in 1738 and has today been lovingly restored. There will be a pub stop for drinks only towards the end of the walk but please bring a packed lunch to eat around the lake at Painshill. A camera too might also come in handy for this walk.
A walk from Guildford to Farnborough taking a variety of areas including Wood Street Common, Pirbright Common and the Basingstoke Canal. We may cross the Ash ranges subject to access and no live firing. There are hourly trains back to Guildford leaving Farnborough North at half past the hour. Bring a packed lunch.
This walk is before a Farnborough pub evening, please feel free to stay on for the evening. If you are staying on for the pub evening, there are a number of food options in Frimley Green. Ask the walk leader on the day for details.
The Prince of Wales in Farnborough – a traditional friendly pub that’s been a regular in the Good Beer Guide for many years. 8 real ales on tap. 100m from Farnborough North train station (Reading to Redhill line), 10 minutes walk from Farnborough Main train station (Woking to Basingstoke line). Saturday 18th September
Join us for a picturesque walk in rural East Sussex visiting a selection of fine country pubs along the way. First stop will be the Sussex Ox at Milton Street, then it's off to The Smuggler's Inn at Alfriston. (Tea room option here and ice cream shops). From here we take the byway to Alciston and the Rose Cottage Inn. And finally to the Cricketer's at Berwick village before ending the trail back at Berwick Station. Packed lunch, pub lunch or tea room.
Some classic big hills, the South Downs escarpment, wonderful views, and a descent to the coast. Here we can enjoy footbridges over the estuary, decorated house boats, and a paddle in the sea. A favourite route, now with slightly easier hilly section. Pub stop half-way for drinks only, bring packed lunch.
Saturday 25th September
This should be a beautiful autumn walk with the leaves just starting to turn and plenty of blackberries still on the hedgerows for snacking! The route will take us to the south and then west of Leith Hill so expect hills, views and lunch on another Surrey high point. Pub stop for drinks only. Bring picnic lunch.
Saturday 2nd October
Discover the countryside between Reigate and Merstham though Gatton Upper Wood and around Gatten Park before for afternoon tea and cake at Reigate Hill Cafe. Bring packed lunch.
A walk along the River Blackwater path from Crowthorne Station to North Camp Station. The path goes through wetlands wildlife reserves and river pastures. The route is close to the Reading-Guildford train line and participants can drop out at any of the stations. Picnic lunch. Pub stop at the walk end.
If coming by car, park at North Camp and take the 1023 train to Crowthorne.
Sunday 3rd October
Challenging walk around Headley, Box Hill and Buckland with plenty of hills, and a few tweaks since last year. Is this the hardest walk around Box Hill? Join me to find out. NB: This walk is only suitable for experienced long distance walkers. Prompt Start. Bring packed lunch.

Easy going autumnal waterside walk from Ripley to Send and Pyrford. We'll pass by Ockham Mill and the ruins of an
Augustinian Priory, and might see the odd heron or cormorant. Bring packed lunch, pub stop for drinks only.
Sunday 10th October
A countryside walk south out of Dorking up over Holmwood Common, across fields circling round to Leigh for a picnic lunch at its pretty little green with possible pub visit. Returning via Betchworth and the Greensand way through Brockham. Bring packed lunch. Pub stop for drinks only. NB map shows St Martins Walk car park grid reference.
Saturday 16th October
After a gentle warm-up by the R. Mole, hills come in quick succession on a walk that will test your stamina and fitness. With 6 climbs including Box Hill, White Hill, Norbury Park, and Ranmore, this walk is not for the faint-hearted!
You will be rewarded with splendid views, Autumn colours, and refreshments at the Box Hill kiosk to finish. Possible opt out at 9 miles, before the last hill. No pub stop, bring packed lunch

Sunday 24th October
Hilly Walk across the South Downs, with fantastic views and intriguing features including the Clayton Windmills, the Chattri, and the Devils Dyke. Bring packed lunch. Possible pub stop for drinks only. Please note that due to the limited daylight, this walk will be a fast pace.
Thursday 28th October
Over 60 different beers and ciders can be sampled at this festival organised by the East and Mid-Surrey branch of CAMRA. On Thursday the beer festival is open 16.00-23.00, but I will be there from 7.30pm – come and find me in the hall or give me a call when you arrive. Admission price £4 includes a glass and programme, £1 can be refunded upon return of glass. There may be a queue to get in if the hall has reached its maximum capacity, but you shouldn't have to wait too long.

Saturday 30th October
A river side walk following the towpath for the River Wey from Guildford to Weybridge. There will be a number of locks and gates plus we will get to see a number of interesting small villages. This is a flat fast pace walk due to the number of daylight hours. Possible pub stop for drinks only, bring packed lunch.
We hope to see the autumn colours as we walk along the Long Walk up to Windsor Castle. We will then pass through Windsor town with it's Royal Castle and then on to Eton with it's old college buildings and quaint high street. We will then follow the Thames path for a few miles before coming back to the start via Old Windsor. Bring a packed lunch. Pub stop en route.
Sunday 31st October
We will set off from the quaint Surrey village of Elstead and gradually make our way towards Tilford where we cross the River Wey. Following the river we continue to the ruins of Waverley Abbey which was the first Cistercian
monastery built in England back in 1128. Our route then takes us through a small nature reserve and then along the Greensand Way and North Downs Way. There will be a pub stop for drinks only towards the end of the walk. Bring a packed lunch.
Saturday 6th November
Easy going walk passing through Farnham Park, St Swithun's Way and Dippenhall and back to Farnham past the castle. Bring a packed lunch. Pub stop at the end.
Enjoy the Autumn splendour on a walk from Holmbury St. Mary to Peaslake, via Friday Street, Wotton, Ranmore and Hackhurst Downs. Arriving in Peaslake just after dark, we will have a good rest in the Hurtwood Inn before setting off on a 'night walk' over Holmbury Hill. This will get us back to Holmbury in time for the popular bonfire and fireworks display up in the Glade. Food and drinks will of course be available, and there is a pub on the Green. Bring torch to see and be seen. Bring mid-afternoon snack, pub stop for drinks only.

A truly rambling route on commons and in woodland, taking in the Memorial Cross, Chobham Common, Fairoaks Airport, the McLaren Technology Centre and Horsell Common. Bring packed lunch, pub stop for drinks only.

Wrap up warm for this 13 miler which will take us south from Newlands Corner on a hilly route across woodland and heath. Fast paced so we're back before dark! Bring picnic lunch. Pub stop for drinks only.

Join us for an afternoon walk in the countryside around Redhill, as we discover the beautiful landscape and villages in the surrounding area. The walk will finish at the Garland Pub in Redhill. Pub stop for drinks only
Saturday 27th November
Winding down through the villages of Sutton Abinger and Abinger Common, we will reach Leith Hill. Going over the hill past the tower we will wend our way north along the Greensand Way. After a pub stop in Wotton we will return to Gomshall around Deerleap Wood. Bring packed lunch, pub stop for drinks only.
I am once again leading my pub crawl around the wonderful East Sussex town of Lewes. Visiting such delightful pubs as: The Brewers Arms, Lewes Arms, Gardeners Arms and Snowdrop Inn to mention but a few. We can pay homage to the Harvey’s Brewery which dominates the town and is also known locally as Lewes Cathedral! Lunch and dinner may be obtained from some of the pubs and also shops en-route. Join me at the beginning or part way round (you can even slope off to do some shopping in the many small shops) just call my mobile to locate me. No boots needed as all walking will be on pavements and should not exceed about 3 miles in total.
