Some of the walks and socials on our website are indicated as being 'externally hosted'. This means we're planning to attend something that's hosted/coordinated by someone outside of SYW.
The main takeaway from this is that that no one from SYW will be involved in the running of the event, so any queries or problems should be directed to the organiser.
As we're a walking group, there will often be a SYW-organised walk to and from the event - the annual Brockham Bonfire is a good example of this, where we organise a walk to the event, but the actual bonfire and fireworks are organised by someone else.
For theatre visits, museums or any kind of paid entry, in most cases the idea is for you to buy your own entry ticket and just meet the group at the event, and the description will contain the necessary links to find more info and tickets.
We occasionally look at doing a group ticket purchase (we've historically gone to the Banff Film Festival for example) but this is more likely to be coordinated in our members' Facebook group.
